About the Exhibit:

Making art is an act of faith: faith that the work will grow and be rich, that themes will develop and deepen, that the important things will rise to the surface. We artists tend to our work on a daily basis, sometimes working a bit blind to the larger currents, but we occasionally get a glimpse of the bigger picture. Gardening at Night is an exhibition of the moments that compose these daily ministrations.

Tending to a garden in the dead of night can feel blind, as only a small part of the garden is seen at a time. It’s almost as if the plants are sleeping or hibernating without the sun. It is a secret moment, unwatched by others, but full of the potential that any new day brings, of what will be present in daylight.
