Artist: Lawrence Jolly

In a style he calls Contemporary Narrative Realism—think Dali Meets Rockwell—Jolly’s work features evocative figurative, animal, landscape and other natural subject matter in oil on canvas and 3D mixed media pieces. Blending highly rendered representational content with elements of stylistic abstraction, symbolism and surrealism, Jolly’s art tells stories about the human condition and its relationship with both creator and creation.

About the Artist:

Austin-based artist, former graphic designer, and winner of the 2016 City of Austin People’s Choice Award and 2017 Austin Artboards Competition, Lawrence Jolly has appeared in exhibits in Central Texas, Houston, Santa Fe and San Francisco. Only working as a full time studio artist for five years, Lawrence has developed a significant voice as an emergent painter and maker of 3D mixed media pieces that seek to explore the interwoven presence of spirit and nature.
