Exhibit — Meta Garden – Rebecca Bennett
January 10 - February 9Free
Artist Reception: Saturday Jan 11, 2020 6-8 PM
Artist Talk: Sunday Jan 12, 2020 2-4 PM
Artist Rebecca Bennett’s Meta Garden exhibit will have work that uses digitally manipulated images of her original paintings to create a new body of work that references in a very abstract way elements of a garden, ie. blooms, sprouts, cairns.
She’s using “garden” as a metaphor for growth, change, nourishment, seeds, and natural evolution.
She wants to share creative growth and the path artists take when one idea jumps to another and then another. The garden metaphor continues here with seeds being planted and new things sprouting. The new things might be an exact replica of itself or slightly different as the seed DNA will evolve and change. She will include one painting in the show that refers to the meta collection, specifically a Meta Bloom piece, showing the cycle.
Each cone is a unique painting in the Meta Bloom series. In her Sprout and Cairn series which will be part of the exhibit she refers to one or two paintings in each work.
