Opened in October 2013, the Georgetown Art Center is an anchor arts & culture institution in our community.
The Art Center offers exhibits, with their companion artist talks and receptions, all free to the public. The exhibits range from solo shows of bronze sculptures to custom installations in wood, ceramics, and many other materials. Group shows are held regularly with various themes that are curated by our exhibit committee and also in collaboration with locally renowned artists. Annually, we host Art Hop, currently in it’s eleventh year. Art Hop is our largest, juried show with cash prizes and features hundreds of art works from Texas artists in multiple categories. We partner with local art & historic organizations to sponsor various events during the year, including Plein Aire Paint Outs twice a year. Our love of art education for the community is expressed in our partnership with Cordovan Art School, which offers children’s Art Camps in the spring, summer, and fall in our bright and well appointed studio space.
The Art Center is dependent on the participation of our volunteers, our members’ dues and donor support in order to fulfill our commitment to providing the Georgetown community with memorable art experiences; experiences that are accessible and significant to all through Exhibits, Education, Events, and Engagement; experiences that bring art and people together for enjoyment, discovery, and learning.
