Education Events:

Registration, Cancellation, Transfer, Publicity, and Waitlist Policies

  • Registrations are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.

    Full tuition is due upon registration. Students will receive a registration confirmation letter by email or by mail (if no email address is provided) within two (2) weeks after they register.

    Early registration is strongly encouraged, as many workshops/classes fill quickly. Please also be aware that workshops with insufficient enrollment at the 45-day deadline may be canceled so it is important to register before that time if possible. Also, be aware that classes with insufficient enrollment at the seven-day deadline may be canceled so it is important to register before that time if possible.

  • ALL cancellations must be made in writing. There are no exceptions. You may send an email to GA@ at info@georgetownartworks.org to cancel your enrollment or mail a letter to the address below:

    Cancellations cannot be accepted over the phone. You will receive a cancellation confirmation email, once your cancellation request has been received.

    Masterclass Cancellation Timing:

    If you cancel more than forty-five (45) days before the start date of a workshop published in the current schedule, GAW will retain 20% of your deposit as a cancellation fee.

    If you cancel forty-five (45) days or less before the start date, you will forfeit your entire tuition (100% forfeiture). There are no refunds for no-shows or for withdrawal after a workshop begins.

    Workshop/ Weekly Classes Cancellation Timing:

    If you cancel more than seven (7) days before the start of a local/weekly class, GAW will credit your tuition paid toward a future class. If you cancel six (6) days or less before the start date you will forfeit your entire tuition. There are no refunds for no-shows or for withdrawals after a local/weekly class begins.

  • Georgetown Art Works (GAW) reserves the right to cancel or modify a workshop or class, or substitute instructors at any time. Full refunds will be issued if GAW cancels a workshop or class. GAW reserves the right to require the withdrawal of any student whose conduct is deemed detrimental to the GAW environment.

  • Transfer for the purposes of this document means that a person signs up for one class or workshop but switches to another class or workshop.

    Masterclasses

    For transfers made forty-five (45) days or more before the first day of a masterclass, students will be charged a transfer fee of $50. No transfers are allowed less than forty-five (45) days before the first day of a workshop.

    Workshops/Weekly Classes

    Transfers must be made no less than seven (7) days prior to the first day of the class. Transfers will incur a $15 transfer fee. GAW is not responsible for providing make-ups or issuing refunds, credits, or transfers for days or entire workshops/classes missed as a result of illness, emergencies, or other events beyond GAW's control. Students will receive a full-tuition refund only in the event that GAWcancels the workshop.

    Please Note: GAW strongly urges all out-of-town students to buy refundable airline tickets in case of event cancellations or other unforeseen changes.

  • A fee of $30 will be charged for any checks returned for non-sufficient funds.

  • Most workshops and classes in 2024 will be held at the Georgetown Art Center, 816 South Main, Georgetown, Texas.

    Note that Plein Air painting sites are typically located a 15-60 minute drive from the Georgetown downtown square. Portable equipment and transportation are required for these courses. Students attending destination events will be given instructions on where to meet before the first day of the event, as well as recommendations for lodging.

  • Unless informed otherwise, GAW will consider photographs taken of students in class and of their artwork to be permissible for publication in GAW-owned informational publications, including the web, social media, and printed materials.

  • If a workshop or class is full, interested students may sign up on a waiting list by sending an email to info@georgetownartworks.org. Please be sure to include the name and date of the event as well as your contact information.

    No registration fee or deposit is required to be on the waiting list. Students are notified of openings in the order they sign up on the waiting list. When students are notified of openings, they must pay the tuition in full, or they will lose their place on the list.
